UC Senior Standing
This information is for Counseling faculty.
Students, contact Transfer Center @ cuyamaca.transfer@gcccd.edu if you have any upper division units.
There are two scenarios how student can reach UC Senior Standing status.
Scenario 1. If students have attended a UC and have completed UC units (Upper Division/Lower Division) all those units count toward the limit that each UC has.
Example 1: Student completed 21 UCSD semester units, student can take no more than 68.5 units at community college to transfer to UCSB, total of 89.5 units.
Example 2: Student completed 19 UCSB semester units, student can take unlimited amount of units at community college to transfer to UCSD, since the lower division units are capped at 70 for admission and student will have 89 units before starting UCSD.
Scenario 2. If student completed upper division units from another institution (non UC), then
the breakdown is as follows for upper division courses, and unlimited lowed division
courses.
Max 80 - under 10 upper division
Max 85 - under 15 upper division
Max 90 - under 20 upper division
Example 1: For UCSD Max 90 – no more than 19.5 upper division units and unlimited lower division
units.
Example 2: For UCR Max is 80 – no more than 9.9 upper division units and unlimited lower division
units.
