Cuyamaca College believes that being a leader in education includes setting the pace when it comes to culture and the arts. And from the Heritage of the Americas Museum to the campus Performing Arts Theatre, Cuyamaca College offers myriad opportunities for students and the surrounding community to expand their learning.

 

The

 

Heritage of the Americas Museum

 

provides visitors of all ages a journey through time. An Archeology Wing contains a bevy of pre-Colombian treasures from Mexico and Peru, including an extensive collection of Mayan artifacts. An Anthropology wing provides a glimpse into the daily life of the Cheyenne, Eskimo, Hopi and other Native American cultures, while an Art Wing includes examples of noted Western artists such as Olaf Wieghorst, Marjorie Reed and Alfredo Rodriguez. And a Natural History wing includes displays of meteorites, a saber tooth tiger skull and other fossils.

 

The Samuel M. Ciccati Center  is among East County’s premier acoustical venues and hosts an ongoing series of concerts by locally and internationally renown artists, along with a variety of stage productions.

 

The nearly 5-acre

 

Water Conservation Garden

 

showcases water conservation through a series of beautiful themed areas, such as a native plant garden and a vegetable garden, as well as how-to displays and mulch and irrigation exhibits.

 

The Cuyamaca College Ornamental Horticulture Department, meanwhile, hosts numerous events at the semi-rural campus, including an annual Spring Garden Festival that draws more than 7,000 or more visitors each year.
