 4-year Comprehensive Program Review Cycle

Program review at Cuyamaca College serves as the major vehicle for unit-level planning, evaluation, and improvement.

In 2017, the College began its inquiry and design phases of its participatory governance redesign process to create a new structure intended to create efficiencies, enhance communication, and bring together groups with similar functions. As part of the redesign, the College's four previous program review committees (Instructional Program Review and Planning Committee, Student Services Program Review and Planning Committee, Administrative Services Program Review and Planning Committee, and Executive Program Review and Planning Committee) have come together to design a more efficient structure, in the form of a single body (the Program Review Steering Committee or PRSC) to guide the college-wide program review process, which launched in spring 2019. The PRSC will continue to collect feedback to improve the process each year through the Integrated Planning Survey and other means.

Note that the PRSC focuses on planning and continuous improvement. Resource requests submitted through the program review process are collected via the program review online module and forwarded to appropriate resource prioritization groups:

Resource requests are reviewed in light of program plans submitted in each program review and according to resource prioritization rubrics (see Resource Request button below for more information). Program Review Resources


  • Data for each instructional program review will continue to be provided by the Institutional Effectiveness, Success, and Equity (IESE) Office (accessible via the Program Review Data webpage)
  • Data for student services cohort programs can be found via this link: Cuyamaca IR Webpage
  • A data glossary with definitions for each measure of productivity/efficiency is available here
  • Training is offered by the PRSC and IESE Office the leading up to the program review deadline for program review authors, on achievement and learning outcome data integration, and on resource requests completion
  • All program reviews are submitted online - Word versions of the templates are posted below in draft form.
  • All Cuyamaca program reviews are completed in a four-year cycle, with the comprehensive completed in Year 1, followed by three subsequent annual updates.
