When transcripts are initially received, from currently-enrolled students, they are reviewed to determine the number of units that will be accepted and applied toward degree and certificate goals, and will also be incorporated into the overall Grade Point Average.
A course-by-course evaluation to award course equivalencies, and to determine the fulfillment of degree and/or certificate requirements, must be initiated by the Counseling Office.
Students must submit all official transcripts from all outside institutions prior to requesting a transcript evaluation. Please allow 8 to 10 weeks for your official transcript evaluation to be processed.
If you are requesting your transcripts to be evaluated prior to the start of a semester please submit your evaluation request 8 to 10 weeks prior to the first day of registration for that semester.

Because of the complexity of the service and the high volume of requests, it could take up to 6 weeks to receive results. If the transcript evaluators need you to provide additional information, the evaluation process could take longer.
You will be notified by Admissions and Records when your transcript evaluation is complete. At that time you may schedule an appointment with your counselor to go over your evaluation.
If you need to clear a prerequisite for a class that is not English, Math, or ESL, you will need to submit the Prerequisite Clearance/Challenge Form. English, Math, and ESL clearances are evaluated through the Placement questionnaire, available in the Self Service portal.
