Cuyamaca College is committed to fulfilling its mission of serving the community, and that means close collaboration with local business and industry in meeting the demands for a well-trained workforce.
Among these efforts is Cuyamaca College’s work with the Professional Development Academy. The Professional Development Academy was initiated through an Industry Driven Regional Collaborative grant in 2004. It serves the workforce and business community by providing noncredit and affordable “BusinessESSENTIALS” training in such categories as Customer Service, Supervision and Leadership. The PDA has worked with 200 businesses and organizations throughout San Diego and Imperial counties and served approximately 10,000 students since its inception.
The Cuyamaca College Workforce Learning Resource Center is part of a statewide network that provides employee assessment and customized training for the employees of all types of businesses and companies through low-cost, yet completely customized programs. Our instructors are competent, cooperative and offer flexible schedules. Training is offered at the work site or on our college campus, depending upon the unique needs of each organization.
Closely related to these efforts is the Cuyamaca College
Contract Education Program. Through this highly successful endeavor, we work closely with employers to identify causes, conditions and barriers of a business’s performance gap, and we tailor specific solutions to close that gap and recover, enhance and improve your competitive advantage.
