Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance Program

A Program of Scholarship America®

The Cuyamaca College Dreamkeepers program is accepting applications.

Developed with support from the Wal-Mart Foundation and with additional fundraising by The Foundation for Grossmont & Cuyamaca Colleges, the Dreamkeepers Emergency Financial Assistance program at Cuyamaca College can provide assistance to students at risk of dropping out of college due to unexpected financial emergencies.  Dreamkeepers assistance was created to help students stay in college and meet their educational goals, ultimately, securing a better financial future.


To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units at Cuyamaca College.
  • Have a minimum overall 2.0 GPA for all completed college coursework, demonstrate satisfactory academic progress.
  • Be seeking a declared certificate, degree or transfer objective.
  • Have a documental “extreme personal/financial emergency”. Emergencies consist of unusual "non-recurring expenses".

School Tuition & Fees, Books & Supplies, Legal Expenses, Nicotine or any other Controlled Substance, Entertainment, Internet Service, Cell Phone/Service, Cable, Personal Loans, Car Payments, Normal Bills/Expected Household and Other Bills/Extensive Automotive Repair Expenses/Normal Automotive Wear Repair.


FIRST - Complete and pass the FATV "Money Management" course session only and send the completion notice to

SECOND - Complete the Budget Worksheet and include with documentation you send to the Financial Aid Office. Write: Attn: Dreamkeepers at the top of the page.

THIRD - Prepare your documentation of expenses and the "Statement of Need" that clearly describes in detail your extreme emergency and how you will prevent it from occurring again.

FOURTH - Read and answer all questions on the Dreamkeepers Questionnaire and then complete the Dreamkeepers Application.

FIFTH - Submit all documentation with your Dreamkeepers Application or bring the documents to the Financial Aid and Scholarships Office (A300).

SIXTH - You MUST respond to the Acknowledgment email sent by Dreamkeepers once you have submitted your Dreamkeepers Application or your application            WILL NOT BE PROCESSED by Dreamkeepers.
