The Career Center has a variety of student assessments and tools to help students with their Career Development and Job Skills needs. These tools and assessments include:

Personality Type and Careers

Take the do what you are Logo Personality Assessment.


The "Do What You Are" personality assessment is based on Carl Jung's theory of personality. Learn more about your strengths, blind-spots, communication strategies and careers related to your personality preference and type. Come to the Career Center to get your student login and make an appointment with a career counselor to interpret your results.

Set up your portfolio before making your career advising appointment with a career counselor. Bring a printed copy with you to your appointment. Your counselor will discuss your results with you.

You may also benefit from taking the TypeCan assessment test.

Career Cruising - Skills and Values


Career Cruising is a tool for you to learn more about your skills, values and interests. This program allows you to search Career professions and Colleges. Come to the Career and Student Employment department for log-on Instructions and your password.

Sections to complete are:

  • Work Values Sorter - what you like or dislike

Optional Sections:

  • Basic Skills Survey
  • Workplace Skills Sorter
  • Transferable Skills Sorter

Career Research:

  • Research all Careers via Career Pathways/Clusters, Alphabetically
  • View videos of people in those careers
  • View a day in the life of this career
  • What are advantages of this career, outlook, salary, description and related careers.

Multiple Intelligence Survey

The Multiple Intelligence Survey is based on Howard Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence. Create your intelligence profile, learn about challenges, and careers and majors related to your strenghts. There are nine intetigences, not only mathematical and Linguistic strengths (math and English). These strengths include bodily-kinesthetic, existential, interpersonal, intrapersonal, linguistic, logical-mathmatical, musical, naturalist, and spatial. Find out what these mean and how it can help you choose your major and career goals.

Learning Styles Survey

The Learning Styles Inventory will help you discover how you learn best and how to use all your learning styles in the classroom and when studying at home. Your learning preferences can also help you with your future major and career goals.

Perfect Interview

The Perfect Interview software allows you to practice interviews from your home via your webcam from your smart device, laptop or computer. There is also a private room you can book at the career center where you can practice. Perfect Interview has thousands of practice questions, an interview coach to help you answer such questions, and two sample student responses. Perfect Interview also has a job search and resume builder.
